South awarded to Fujitsu: 26 Jan 2004:
The Fujitsu Alliance has been awarded the final Local Service Provider (LSP) contract for the South of England to deliver the NHS Care Records Service (NHS CRS) under the National Programme for IT (NPfIT)in England. The Southern region is the largest in England covering almost one quarter of England's population and a geographical area from Dover to Land's End and the Isle of Wight to Milton Keynes.

The South East Informatics Learning Network supported an Action Learning Set
looking generically at Informatics issues. The group met for just over a year and, at their final meeting, identified a number of common themes related to information management and technology, which they felt impacted the areas in which they where working. Many of their work roles involved reviewing existing and improving future practices in order to bring benefits to both patients and staff.
